This free, open-to-the-public 2nd Annual "Clean, Green Boating Festival" is for boaters, outdoor enthusiasts and all others interested in a more sustainable future for Puget Sound.
The purpose of the Festival is to bring environmental awareness to our community members who enjoy on-the-water recreation in Puget Sound and to show the impact of our actions on our waterways and shorelines.

2010 "Clean, Green Boating Festival" highlights include:
- Free "citizen science" boat tours on Commencement Bay
- Stormwater and marina "clean water" education
- Workshops and "How to" seminars for boaters
- Family learning activities and "hands-on" fun

"Clean, Green Boating Scholarship"
New in 2010! CHB and the Tacoma Liveaboards announce the "Clean, Green Boating Scholarship" Essay Contest. Area high school students in Fife, Franklin Pierce, Peninsula, Puyallup, Tacoma, and University Place Public, Private, and Home School Districts are invited to write original essays on the topic of "A Healthy Puget Sound: What's the Problem, and How Do We Change It?" The winning essay will enable a local high school group to experience a 3-day, 2-night on-the-water marine science expedition in Puget Sound! For details, see here.
Each student’s scholarship essay contest entry must be accompanied by a signed Teacher / Administrator Agreement. Download the agreement here.
Programming/Exhibitor Registration
The theme of the "Clean, Green Boating Festival" is environmental stewardship and protecting our waterways through prevention, conservation, responsible behavior, and compliance with pollution regulations. Exhibitors, vendors, agencies and community groups representing "green," environmentally-oriented products, services and educational information are invited to register to participate in the Festival.
