About the Tacoma Liveaboards
The Tacoma Liveaboard Association (TLA) is a Washington State registered non profit organization of authorized liveaboards residing on our vessels in the Tacoma area. The TLA was formed in 2008 as the first affiliate of the Washington Liveaboard Association.
Membership
TLA membership is open to any authorized liveaboard residing in the Tacoma area. The TLA organization was initially founded by liveaboards residing on Thea Foss Waterway, where currently two marinas offer liveaboard moorage: Foss Harbor Marina located on the northwest side of the waterway near the Foss Waterway Seaport, and Delin Docks Marina located on the southeast side near Johnny's Seafood Restaurant. Other liveaboards are encouraged to join the TLA, and other boaters are welcome to attend meetings. Members pay dues of $15.00 per year to support TLA administrative activities.
Meetings
On the first Thursday of each month TLA members meet to share information, education and experience among liveaboards and our larger community in efforts to protect the area's people, waterways, natural resources and the well being of Tacoma area liveaboards. General membership meetings focus on a topic, guest speaker or presentation of interest to liveaboards and other boaters. Each month TLA Board of Directors meetings, which are open to the public, are held just prior to TLA general membership meetings.
